LastBit Software Releases TrafMeter 4.0

LASTBIT SOFTWARE RELEASES TRAFMETER 4.4 FOR WINDOWS 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003

Track HTTP requests in your network

New York (04/12/2004) - LastBit Software has released version 4.4 of the TrafMeter
traffic monitoring and reporting utility for Microsoft Windows. TrafMeter lets
users set up an unlimited number of filters for the captured traffic, defining
the network packets that are used for tracking and reporting purposes. Each filter 
can have individual (colored) graph that makes your traffic visible in realtime!

New version comes with new powerful feature called "HTTP Host Header Logging". 
This allows recording into a plaintext file or into a database the host names 
obtained by analyzing a content of HTTP request and an amount of transferred bytes 
during HTTP session. 

What is a difference between HTTP Host Header Logging and traditional technique 
of analyzing log-files of a proxy server? First, using TrafMeter doesn't require 
the proxy server (sometimes, a configuration of the network doesn't allow to use it). 
Second, TrafMeter 4.4 takes into account an overhead of HTTP protocol 
(including size of IP and TCP headers) that lets to obtain an actual traffic 
usage instead size of downloaded file.

PRICE:
TrafMeter 4.4 has two editions. TrafMeter Freeware Edition is fee free but 
allows using only one traffic filter. 
TrafMeter Commercial Edition can hold unlimited number of the traffic 
filters but it costs $69 per license.
